Reely high up...Really Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

nickie218: This section of the park is still home to the remaining FEMA workers due to Hurricane Wilma and is closed to the general public. As soon as this section re-opens I will check on the cache and rescue the TB's if any are found, meanwhile to avoid this being reviewed by the approvers each month I will archive it.

Look for a new version of this cache soon in a park near you!

Geocache Description:

This sprawling, 666-acre park is perched at the edge of the Everglades Conservation Area, and boasts such distinctive amenities as the Fox Observatory, a model airplane field and a mountain bike trail.

Athletic facilities include a tennis/racquetball center, a biking/jogging path, volleyball areas, and a swimming pool complex with a mist pool, snack bar, lockers and showers/restrooms. A series of interlocking lakes offers opportunities for fishing and the use of personal watercraft. Bikes and boats are available to rent, and there are nature and equestrian trails.

Markham Park's popular outdoor target range is adjacent to a 1,600-square-foot clubhouse with snack bars and a meeting room. Two 120+ capacity and three 60+ capacity picnic shelters - all with grills, tables and water, and two with electricity - are available for rental, and other picnic tables and grills are scattered throughout the park. The park's large campground includes 86 sites for RV and tent camping.

Markham Park is also the site of an approximately three-acre dog park. The canine playground - which celebrated its grand opening in March 2005 - is divided into separate fenced sections for large and small dogs. It features smooth, durable Bermuda grass, as well as eight-foot-wide asphalt paths where owners can walk or jog with their pets. Three shade shelters - two with refrigerated drinking fountains - provide resting areas. The park features a centrally located dog wash area for canines of all sizes, in addition to a separate washing area for large dogs.

The park charges $1 per person on weekends and Holidays, there are currently several other caches in the park so make a day out of it!

The cache is a cammo'd one gallon container filled with lots of goodies. Please be sure to take extra care in retrieving the cache and in placing it back.

Have a reely good time finding this cache.
