Geocache Description:

This is a 2 part multi-cache

A small plaque will give you coordinates to the second cache which is an ammo box with plenty of room for goodies. Original contents are: Log and Pencil, Slinky, travel wallet, necklace, patriotic mouse and "Buddy the Goober" Travel Bug

This cache is named after “Brushy” Bill Roberts of Hico, Texas. In 1949, he claimed to be the famous New Mexico outlaw Billy the Kid who, according to NM history, was shot and killed by Sheriff Pat Garrett in July of 1881.

Considerable evidence refutes Brushy’s claim to fame and though Bill Roberts died in 1950, his story and persistent believers still haunt the historians of Fort Sumner, New Mexico and the legend of the young outlaw William H. Bonney.

You can visit Billy the Kid’s grave while you are there.

Unless you like very long walks, you might want to drive from the museum/grave sight to an area near the cache.
