Geocache Description:

This is the fourth "bottle" cache in the "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" series. For a history of the song, see GCPEME.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RETRIEVE THIS CACHE FROM THE HIGHWAY!

This "bottle of beer" cache takes the name of my first cat Grendel, who is named after the Marillion song "Grendel" which was written about the beast in the book BEOWULF.

In a nutshell, Grendel hated. Grendel seethed. He was capable of great cuteness, but it was always shadowed by his dark nature. He hissed, growled, and bit for just about any reason or no reason at all. How little I knew back then. Regardless, I loved him. He was nearly 20 pounds of pure black long-haired meanness, except between 5 AM and 7 AM. That's when he would hop up in bed with me, curl up by my legs, and go to sleep. You could almost think he was being lovable...

He passed in 2010. As of the time of this edit (Sep 2019), Raissa is still alive. She was at the creation of this series.
