cheech gang: It is with great sadness that I must announce the demise of this cache. It has had a good run, but once again has gone AWOL. I'm all out of hide-a-keys! von Sweinigus agrees.

Geocache Description:

Dear Geocachers,

Hello. My name is von Sweinigus. I love to go geocaching with my daddy "Barnacle Bear". You may already know him, he is very famous around here. Some people say his middle name is "Dr. DNF" because he holds the record for Did Not Find. I don't understand why they call him that because every time he takes me with him we are successful. Often I find the cache first and have to point him in the right direction. You would think he would make the connection that I'm essential to the team and should accompany him more often. I have so much fun finding geocaches.

Yesterday during one of the rare moments when I wasn't napping an idea came to me. This is something that does not happen very often to a dog. I thought I would show my appreciation to the local geocachers who have provided me with so much fun by placing my own geocache. So last night when daddy was't looking I snuck out of the yard for about 15 minutes. He still doesn't know about the hole under the fence, please don't tell him.

I went to a place where he always takes me for a walk. This is a special place to me. It is only about 3000 paces from my house. Don't forget that my paces are about 5 inches long. Also I have four legs so I'm not sure if you have to double that number or cut it in half. And don't forget, you've never seen a dog walk down a path in a straight line. Anyway, I don't think you will need that information to find this cache.

You will know you are in the right park because there is a giant colorful boulder there. I know this is part of my territory because I have marked the boulder many, many times. I placed the cache in this park. I am very good at burying things, but I've heard you shouldn't be doing that with a cache. It only took a little sniffing to find a spot. It is low to the ground because I can't reach very high. (Well, maybe not as low anymore since it was muggled, it is in the same place, only different.) It isn't very big because I had to carry it all the way there in my mouth. Some humans would call this a lame micro, but I think this is a pretty cool accomplishment for a dog.

I don't know how to work a GPS (neither does Barnacle Bear), so I asked Cheech Gang to figure out the coordinates for me. If there is any problem you can blame him.

Thanks,
von Sweinigus

P.S. I'm the one on the left without the hat and plastic cape. I reserve my hat and cape only for very special occasions, like when cheech gang comes to visit.
