Longtown Traditional Cache

outlawmedic: Well, This one has been around for a long time and has been through a lot but all good things must come to an end. Hospital security has put an end to all geocaching on hospital property due to "safety concerns", but mainly because of cache on top of the garage that is not maintained by the owner. Its been a great time, but now the party is over.

Geocache Description:

The original Ammo Box container was once again stolen from here so it is now a Lock n Lock container with added camo to hopefully keep anyone without a GPSr from finding it.

This cache has changed a lot in the years it has been here. Deltadawg placed the first one here back in March of '04, but it was gone by October, so he let me have the spot. I changed the location to make it harder to find and added a tape recorder so people could leave a voice log. That was great fun and people left some really cool messages. It was picked up by someone who was out here looking for indian relics (illeagally) one day and it sat in his garage for a couple of months while he got up enough nerve to open it. I finally got the original container and all of the contents back from him. It was taken again back in the spring of this year (2011) and I never have heard from it again. I am replacing it with something that will be a little less noticeable since aparrently this is a pretty busy place. Park at the clinic on Green Street and walk up the new walk to the memorial. While here take the time to linger awhile. Despite it's location, it is very tranquil here.
