Where's The Train? Traditional Cache
Team ARK-ville: One of our original placed geocaches. Placed on June 30, 2005. Hasn't had much activity in a while so I guess it's time we archive this one and place a new one somewhere else. Thanks to everyone who made the short hike to find this cache. It held up very well and the container will be reused for the next hide.

This cache is located on a new section of the Catskill Scenic Trail. The terrain and difficulty are quite easy. A nice family type cache with a little something for everyone.
Accessible year round. Very difficult find after snow cover.
The trail is the former rail bed of the Ulster and Delaware rail ride. It is a flat hard surfaced trail used for hiking, bicycling, and cross-country skiing. Nice scenic trail offering various photo opts of wildlife and plants. The trail is about 25 miles long, but you won’t have to walk that far unless you want to. Cache is well hidden about 14 feet from the center of the old railroad bed, on the dry side, not in the swamp area. It is in an ammo box filled with goodies for young and old alike. You DO NOT have to go beyond the posted signs or climb the steep bank. This cache is hidden within the railroad easement of 30 feet. The posted coordinates were taken with an Etrex showing 35 foot accuracy. Keep this in mind when searching. Try to keep your trades to reflect the same. Watch for muggles, sign the log, and please place cache back as you found it. Hope you enjoy our first cache and the trail.

For those interested, you will walk past a logable benchmark within the vicinity.
Although small cars will fit this trail, it is not allowed and if caught you will be heavily fined.
