Geocache Description:

The cache is located near Elim in the Western Cape.

The cache is situated on a hillside near the small village of Elim in the Western Cape. Elim is owned by the Moravian church and the inhabitants of the village are all members of the church. Here is to be seen the oldest working wooden water wheel in South Africa. The water wheel is part of a mill for grinding corn. Also, here too is the oldest working clock in the country. The clock has a pendulum mechanism and is located in the steeple of the Moravian church. The clock has two faces, one at each end of the church conected by a single drive shaft from the pendulum mechanism. There is much more to explore in Elim and it is recommended that you take a guide from the information center to show you around.
To get to the cache site you must drive up the Geelkop hill outside the village. It is probably best to park at S34 34.870 and E019 45.929 and walk up the hill to prevent further soil erosion of the jeep track. Some of the rarest fynbos flora in the world is to be found on this hill. When you reach the cache site you will understand the name of the cache. The cache is a plastic box wrapped in a black bag and hidden under white stones. Replace the white stones carefully for obvious reasons.
The cache contains:
Geoche "Read Me" document
Logbook and pen
A soldier to guard the cache
Pig
Boot
Hairclip
Magnifying glass
Magnetic checkers game
