Geocache Description:

Enter - If you dare, into the Howling Woods................. be thankfull that you are prevented from entering after 9pm.

Close by are the picturesque and tranquil Wendover Woods, which are of outstanding natural beauty and home to many Flora & Fauna including The Firecrest, a rare little bird with a firey orange crown, hence it's name, to be found in the woods from April to September and the Norway Spruce,a not British but European species, planted earlier this century. It is the traditional Christmas Tree.

The woods have a wealth of trails for you to cycle, walk or Horse ride set in 325 Hectares of coniferous and broadleaf woodland. You could also stroll along the all-ability trail trail to reach the Chilterns highest point, and grab The Chiltern summit cache while you are here.

With easy parking and many picnic and barbecue area's this is a place well worth a visit.

Now onto your visit to the Howling woods, where the tree's are waiting for you and unknown creatures howl and wail....

THE LONE POST.......

Accuracy was a bit sketchy here in the depths of the woods. You should have come across a waist height small tree stump on the right of the footpath. From here take 15 paces due South, to the right of the footpath, and here you will find what you are looking for.

GOOD LUCK !!!!
