This cache has been archived.

rivercity: It's time to archive the Spirit of 76. A fellow cacher has notified us that the cache is hidden under an elderberry shrub which is the host for the elderberry longhorned beetle. We don't want geocachers to disturb the area, and the cache has been removed. Thanks to everyone for visiting.

Geocache Description:

What better time to place the Spirit of 76 cache than the Fourth of July weekend!

We had the pleasure of meeting the cachers Spirit of 76 at a recent RCGDS picnic. We’ve enjoyed finding many of their caches in and around the Sacramento area. This cache is dedicated to the Spirit of 76. Thanks for all of your contributions to geocaching!

The cache is located on the edge of the Putah Creek Riparian Preserve. The cache is hidden a few steps from the road north of Putah Creek, and you do not need to enter the preserve to locate it. Please do not access the cache from the private property south of Putah Creek.

The cache is a small ammo box stocked with patriotic and red, white, or blue trading items.

Be sure to check for other geocaches in the area.
