IronHorseReviewer: [Greetings from Geocaching.com

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from hiding new geocaches around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Therefore we are archiving this cache so that someone else can place a cache in the area and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. If you haven't done so already, please pick up any remaining cache pieces as soon as possible.

If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please e-mail me in response to this archival, and I will assist you in getting your cache re-listed if possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and look forward to seeing your caches up and running in the future.

Geocache Description:

This Cache is for visitors to the Twin Knobs Recreation Area in the Daniel Boone National Forest (Near Morehead, KY).

To Get to the Camping Buddies Cache you will need to enter the Twin Knobs Recreation Area at Cave Run Lake off KY 801. This area is open seasonally, usually from mid-March to September 30th. The Twin Knobs Recreation Area and Campground are clearly marked off this road. If you are not camping, then you will have to pay a $5 (per vehicle) daily park usage fee. (Pack your swimsuit and a picnic lunch because there is a nice beach where you can swim after you find the geocache. It has a bathhouse with showers and a small general store.)
You will see a trail head marker at N38 degrees 05.471, W083 degrees 30.861. This trail head is located next to the BEECH loop of the campground. There is a small parking lot just down the road a few 100 ft. The Cache is located at the end of this trail. Just follow the trail to top. It is a 1 mile hike to the top and will take you about 30 minutes walking quickly. This trail is easy enough for the entire family, but it does go continuously uphill. The view at the top is INCREDIBLE. This is a well-travelled trail so watch out for muggles when looking for and covering back up this ammo box cache.
The contents include many items campers need, as well as some pretty things that little girls would enjoy finding.
Take something, leave something small, and PLEASE sign the log book. The Camping Buddies will return each Spring to restock our cache with lots of good stuff!

Permission for this cache has been granted by the USFS, Authorization ID: MOR507501. Usage Code 311.

UPDATE: Please beware of snakes at this location. Snake seem to also like this location.
