Geocache Description:

This is no walk in the park. Trail distance to cache is 1.3 miles. Come prepared with liquid and "bug juice". It is a good idea to check out http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/recreation/pdf/8.pdf

The name "SwiftMud" comes from the acronym SWFWMD, for SouthWest Florida Water Management District. These are the wellfields where much of west central Florida gets its drinking water. It's mostly land in the Great Cypress Swamp. Parking is available at the entrance located on Parkway Boulevard. For those who are more adventuresome, you can do straight-line navigation and cut off some distance. However, it's recommended to stay on the trail. The cache is a large camouflaged Biscotti container.

Please be sure to sign the register/visitor log at the trailhead when searching this cache. The logs are not just for curiosities sake, they are used for funding and other stuff. It takes less than a minute and it will help keep these areas available for recreation.
