Geocache Description:

A nice hike or bike ride to a picnic area along the Allegheny River. Paved trail makes for an easy walk or ride..but no motorized vehicles can get too close!

This "treaure" can be found along the ALLEGHENY RAILS TO TRAILS, in the section up from the Rockland Station Parking Area. Park there, see and play in the old railroad tunnel,( nice and cool inside for those hot hot days!!) and then go the other direction to find the tupperware cheese container with some goodies and a signature book. A $2 bill is in the logbook for the first find...take it even if you leave nothing, as your prize.

It took me/us (me and 2 kids) about 20 minutes of pedaling to get to this spot. We go this way with a picnic lunch and lots of cold water to a picnic table that is set up along the river by the Rails to Trails Assoc. We have even see a river otter on one occassion! The picnic table is a little PAST the hidden spot, but it is easy to walk the short way back to find it after you are done relaxing in the shade and cool breeze off of the river.

NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES CAN ACCESS THIS FURTHER THEN THE PARKING AREA DUE TO A SET OF GATES BLOCKING THE TRAIL. You can easily bike, hike or roller blade to this though.

Keep in mind the co-ordinates might be a little off due to the moutains and tress.
