Cedar Creek Falls is a San Diego secret treasure. But, it needs a little clean up. So, why not score one of those CITO (Cache In Trash Out) icons in your stats and have some fun.
Clean Up
7:00 am - Meet at the end of Thornbush Rd (by the water tower) in San Diego Country Estates (coordinates above). The Cleveland National Forest team will be there with trash bags, safety waivers, and Adventure Pass parking exemptions. You should bring gloves, a good hat and a lot of water. Also bring 2-way radios if you have them. We will hike to the falls at 7:30 and collect trash from 8:30 am until around 10:00 am. The Forest team will have a truck near the falls so we don't have to carry the trash all the way out.
You can visit nearby caches after the clean up but remember, it's July, and it will be hot (bring lots of water).
Water
It gets very hot out there! Bring at least 2 gallons of water per person. Then bring more water.
Picnic
11:30 am-ish - After the clean up, we will meet for lunch at Ramona Oaks Park (N33 00.243 W116 46.710). This is a potluck so when you log your RSVP, write down what you can bring to share with the group.
