Wynn-Win : A Night Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Shop99er: Well, after 13 years, 147 finds, only 1 DNF, and two owners, it's time for this one to go. Traffic had thinned out pretty much, and the contents were getting a bit tattered.

-Hawk- and I set this up back in July of 2005. When he took a long break from caching in 2009, I inherited it.

Thanks to everyone that braved these woods at night.

Geocache Description:

A night cache located in Wynn-Jones Park. A great undeveloped park in South Kitsap County

*TURN ON BREADCRUMB FEATURE BEFORE BEGINNING-YOU WILL NOT BE GLINTED OUT!!!*

Mandatory Equipment:
  • Flashlight w/ fresh batteries
  • Gps w/ fresh batteries
  • Extra batteries
Parking Coordinates : N47 35.088 , W122 33.385

Park at the above listed coordinates and begin your 1/4 mile or there about, adventure from the traihead located there.

Please do not block the gate when you park

I used Stealth Fire 4D Fire Tacks, so they should be fairly easy to locate and follow. An LED flashlight is preferred, but any flashlight should do.

Just remember to hold it at eye level for ease in spotting the glints, and be sure to scan side to side and up and down for the glints.

The trail system in this park is well established, with the exception of a few spots where you will have to "wade" through the ferns that have grown up on both sides of the trail. If it has been raining, you will get wet. If it's rained alot, you will get very wet.

Also be on the lookout for some areas where a small tree or a root may be going across the trail so you don't trip. Since you will have to do some off trail bushwacking the last 75 feet or so to reach the cache container, I chose to give this section of the hunt a terrain rating of 3 stars. The rest of the .25 miles of the hunt will be the above mention 2.5 stars.

**CAUTION**The forest floor where you will have to bushwack is covered with the usual forest debris. It is fairly deep in places, and can be very soft and treacherous. If you have a walking stick, I suggest using it for this cache.**CAUTION**

Here is how this works-You will be following single glints from the trailhead to the point where you will begin to bushwack, and at that spot you will see double glints on a tree. From there follow single glints until you get to triple glints. The cache will be hidden within 15 feet of the triple glints.

I have placed a FTF envelope in the cache, that includes four free goodies at a local establishment, a scratch ticket, and a Nanny Nanny Boo Boo FTF Button.

Good Luck, and let me know what you think of the hunt!
