Tunnbinderiet i Knobesholm var ett av världens modernaste när det togs i bruk kring sekelskiftet.
Mest gjordes smörtunnor (”drittlar”) av bokved ur traktens skogar.
Under glansperioden 1910-1930 tillverkades årligen runt 15000 tunnor av 12 man som ibland arbetade tvåskift för att hinna med alla beställningar.
