The Lone Bench Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hwak_uk: Well it's gone [:(] - there has been a lot of work in the woods very near the cache and I fear it was disturbed. No sign of any contents scattered. Thanks very much for all those who visited and supported this cache. I will now work on a more suitable hiding place in the same area.

Geocache Description:

Traditional cache hidden in a small woodland in Petersham close to Ham House.

This cache is hidden near the River Thames in Petersham, located in Petersham Lodge Woods close to Ham House. Ham House was built in 1610 and well worth a visit; more information at (visit link) In the summer a ferry runs from Marble Hill House to Orleans House all within walking distance of the cache. The cache is located just off the footpath between Teddington Lock and Richmond Bridge on the south side of the river. I recommend taking a walk into Richmond as you come across a nice pub on the way called Steins bar at N 51 27.336 W 000 18.249. If you are on push bikes then don’t forget to check out Richmond Park (visit link) which has some interesting Geocaches. Parking is available at N 51 26.859 W 000 18.286 very close to the woods.
