Geocache Description:

Beautiful overlook in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Follow the Chamisa Trail.

From Santa Fe, New Mexico, take Artist Road AKA Hyde Park Road toward the ski basin. Park at N 35 degrees 43.724 minutes, W 105 degrees, 51.965. This is the trail head for the Chamisa Trail, #183. Take either fork of the trail until you reach the ridge at waypoint N 35 44.572, W 105 51.501. Good place to rest. Don't continue on down to the Stream (this time). Instead, take the trail to your left (NW ish) and follow the trail until you get to waypoint N 35 44.396, W 105 51.927. The trail has climbed a short way to another ridge and turns back to the north, but go south and look for a lesser used trail. Follow this to the cache. The entire hike is perhaps 2 1/2 hours. You will see many muggles with their muggle dogs, muggle cyclists and even an occasional muggle horse.

Cache is a small square candy or cookie tin painted brown.
Original contents include mini-alien, bunny button, a wooden coin trick, other stuff and a 5 pound british bank note.

EDIT 5-04-08: Container is now a .30-cal. ammo can. Happy caching!
EDIT 08-11-08: If you decide not to follow the trail and bushwhack it straight up, add a star to the terrain rating! :-)
