Geocache Description:

Located about 4.3 miles from the end of Komo Mai Drive in Pearl City. It's about 4 tenths of a mile beyond the John Quency Adams Birthday Cache placed July of 2004.

At the time I’m planning this cache there are supposed to be 4 other caches on the ridge. This will make number 5 and the 2nd by me. It should be at the summit or closer than my Pres. John Quincy Adams cache.

Starting place is the same at the end of Komo Mai Drive, Pacific Palisades, in Pearl City. The trail is being cleared by the Hawaii Trail and Mountain Club on July 17th and should be in pretty good shape for at least 6 months until the vegetation grows back.

Good luck as this is going to be a LONG LONG walk on a ridge that goes up and down and up and down and keeps doing this for hours. I placed the cache around 12 Noon, 4 hours after starting the hike. So don’t be starting this anytime but early morning or you may get stuck up there as the sun goes down. If so call 911 and maybe you’ll get a helicopter ride out. But you better act as if you sprained an ankle or something?. Don’t try to walk out in the dark. Just “hunker” down and wait till the next morning and pray it doesn’t rain.

IF YOU DO FIND THE CACHE PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE COVER IS ON TIGHT, AND THAT YOU MAKE SURE IT CAN NOT BE SEEN (when you put it back) WITH OUT LOOKING FOR IT. TWO OF MY OTHER CACHES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT IN THE OPEN BY FINDERS. THAT MAKES IT EASY FOR LOOTERs. PLEASE KOKUA-HELP BY KEEPING IT SECURE!
