The following information comes from The Handbook of Texas Online:
Roznov, in northeastern Fayette County, was settled during the latter nineteenth century by Czech and German immigrants. It was named by John Halamicek for his European home. A post office was established in 1892 and discontinued in 1906. In 1900 the community had a store, a saloon, and a blacksmith shop, but residents voted in nearby Warrenton. In 1933 Roznov had a population of fifty. Because of improved roads and modernization of farming and ranching, the town is no longer incorporated.
The land that Halamicek set aside for a community cemetary is still maintained faithfully by his descendants. If anyone comes around while you are there, it is most likely them. Enjoy this beautiful retreat and absorb a little bit of Czech history in Texas!
