This is one of our favorite places on Oahu—hope you enjoy your visit.
Stage 1: The coordinates above will lead you to the parking area and the visitor center/gift shop, where you can sign in (REQUIRED for all visitors to this botanical garden) and pick up a map. You will find the map invaluable, both for finding your way to stage 2 and for locating the final cache (in conjunction with the hint contained in the stage 2 microcache). Ask the gift shop attendant to show you on the map how to get to Inspiration Point.
Stage 2: Following the directions provided by the gift shop attendant, go to N 21° 20.069 W 157° 48.247 to find a microcache containing coordinates to the final cache (as well as a hint).
Stage 3: After finding the microcache you’re ready for the final hunt, which is not hard except for the heavy tree cover, which may make it difficult to get good readings on your GPSr. If necessary, use the map and the hint from the stage 2 microcache. The cache is located just a few feet off the trail.
General information: Wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring mosquito repellent. Entrance is free, but donations are always appreciated to help maintain this beautiful spot. Please note: hours are 8-4 Monday through Friday and 9-3 on Saturday. The garden is closed on Sunday and state holidays.
