This box is located off the trail near the summit of Mt. Sinai or the Shaker Mtn within Pittsfield State Forest. It is about a 1 3/4 hike from Rt 20 to reach the site.
You may reach the trailhead by parking at the parking area across from Hancock Shaker Village on Rt 20 or via trails from outer West Street in Pittsfield. Note the trail to Sinai is only for hikers and Mtn bikers (no motorized vehicles). From the Rt 20 parking area follow the dirt road on your right to a boy scout bridge, go over it and take another right. The trail to Sinai (approx .6 mi from rt 20) will be on your left. Climb to the top. The hike may be done as a loop or an out and back. If accessing the trail via this Shaker route during 10a-4p hours- Hancock Shaker Village requests you obtain a hiking pass (they are free).
The cache contains a travel bug "White Mtns Peakbagger" who hopes to climb the 48 high peaks in the White Mtns then retun to Pittsfield;a variety of small toys and a camera to log your visit. Please let us know when the last photo has been taken. The cache is a clear tupperware container medium size.
