This is a very popular hiking/biking/boating campground accessed via the scenic Upper Priest Lake trail or the thorofare. It is located on the SW shore of the Upper Priest Lake. There are picnic tables, bear lockers to store
your food in at night, and an outhouse. Pack it in, Pack it OUT is the policy here, as there is NO garbage service. The Upper Priest Lake is 3 miles long, and there is a no-towing law for boats (no towing of tubes/water-skiers, etc). It is very popular among canoers and kayakers for that reason. The thorofare that runs between the 2 lakes has a no-wake policy, and is a great place to see much wildlife.
This is bear country, so please remember, no food, liquids or odorous items in the cache (ie. food, candy, water, hand sanitizer, cigars, candles, potpourri, etc.).
Directions: Take Hwy 57 from Priest River. Turn right at Nordman and continue on to the Beaver Creek Campground. The trailhead AND canoe portage are both accessed via the campground, just follow the signs. It is a nice, fairly gentle 3-mile hike to Plowboy campground.
There is much tree cover at the cache site, so it would be good to look at the spoilers pics and bring the hint along. Good luck, and HAVE FUN!
