This is a gold painted ammo can with Magellan's contest logo on the side. It is placed in a trailless area of New Quarter Park.
There are two parking lots in the park, one outside the entrance, the other at the developed area of the park. Please be sure to park legally in one of the designated lots. Either lot is a half mile from the cache. Parking on the shoulder near the cache is not allowed.
Now that the contest is over, I can tell you that the cache is best approached from the field corner to the northwest of the cache. Trust me on this.
Here are the clues provided by Magellan prior to the coordinate release:
Journal Entry 1 - UPS
Time-travel takes a little getting used to. It can be quite disorientating.
A flickering light and a swirling, misty ether forms in front of me. My head begins to spin, as Giants play rock tunes on a pipe organ. My mind fills with images of Sandcastles and Fountains Frozen in Time. Drip… drip, the sound echoes as the portal gapes open. I step through. “You have arrived,” the friendly voice of my UPS handheld receiver announces. I am in the right Time, but not the right place.
It is unfortunate that the Universal Positioning System is not as accurate as Earth’s Global Positioning System, or it would have placed me closer to my target

Journal Entry 2 - A slow boat
The portal appeared right on schedule and I was able to step through to the summer of 2005. Proximity to the Harbor made it a short trip to the 38-gun frigate which I had previously arranged to take me on the journey along the Atlantic Coast. Having grown accustomed to zipping across time and space on the Blue Heron, the 531 nautical mile trip seemed nearly endless.
We dropped anchor near the mouth of the Bay and I took a canoe for the third leg of the Adventure in Time.

Journal Entry 3 - A secret base
I paddled the canoe up the waterway toward the secret Magellan League base that will be established several years from now. Members call it the Black Fortress because of the shadowy electronic dome that blocks radio and imaging technology. This area is the perfect spot for the base since it already hosts the largest naval installation in the world. And since it is the sight of the first permanent English settlements that would eventually form the United States, it seemed an appropriate spot from which to preserve history.
As I paddled up the Bay, I was amazed at all the activity. People were enjoying the beauty and adventure of boating, swimming and fishing, completely unaware of the damage Time would do to this area in the coming years: damage I am here to help prevent.
As I approached the landing, I wondered if members of the present-day Magellan League would BE THERE waiting for me or how soon they would follow.

Journal Entry 4 - Royalty’s child
As I had searched for the entrance to the Bay’s small branch on my way to recover the treasure that had been forgotten there I continued to reflect on how different everything looks in my own Time. It’s barely recognizable. Since satellite photos are not available for this area I had no idea how lush it would be.
I avoided the Depot and the Parkway and recovered the forgotten treasure of the Magellan League. I did meet a couple of League members who helped me locate the cache.
