Sanders Legacy Loot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

IronHorseReviewer: Greetings from Geocaching.com

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While
we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block
other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable
amount of time, we can't do so forever. Therefore we are archiving this
cache so that someone else can place a cache in the area and geocachers
can once again enjoy visiting this location. If you haven't done so
already, please pick up any remaining cache pieces as soon as possible.

If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please
e-mail me in response to this archival, and I will assist you in getting
your cache re-listed if possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to
geocaching in the past and look forward to seeing your caches up and
running in the future.

Geocache Description:

Near a church on an old family farm. Easy walking to cache.

This "loot" was planted by the descendents of the Sanders, Houchins, Ritter and Denham families.

Vilas and Narvel Sanders had four children who were all charter members of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The land that New Grove Missionary Baptist Church sits on was donated by the Sanders family in the early-1900's. Two members of the family have preached at the church. The picnic pavilion was the pride of Harry and Eileen (Sanders) Cross and Reed Sanders.

The youngest child was the first family member to move farther than a mile from this little church. (Reed, the second child and only son, did serve and lived at Fort Shelby during WWII) This loot was planted by the children, grandchildren, and the great-grandchildren of this youngest child. These descendents now live in Drake, Kentucky, Kennesaw, Georgia, and Albany, Oregon.

****11/1/2007 it sounds like the cache container is needing replaced due to water getting inside. I am currently out of the area and won't be able to replace it for some time. If a fellow geocacher is willing able to replace the container while finding it then I would be greatly appreciative. If not then I will have to disable it in the future. Thanks.
