On the main shelf below Cooks Mesa between Torrey and Capitol Reef NP just off a pack trail.
Take the dirt road north off SR24 at the crest of a hill 4.4 miles from the general store in Torrey. Stay left and park under the shadey tree. The TH starts by the boulder with the mini arch. Follow the trail and cairns to the silent sentinels and use the gps to home in. Please do not disturb the petrified wood near the trail. There is a good place to pick up samples just 6 minutes more down the trail at 20.346, 22.571. There are many interesting rock formations and twisted dead trees and great views all along the trail. I really like the pyramid and dinosaur rocks at about 20 minutes from the TH. The cache is another 14 minutes farther. I'll leave the rest of the discovering to you.Cache is an ammo box I got at the UTAG event in Sugarhouse Park last spring. Starting off with large, plush Signal the frog, plastic frog, nice new watch (battery included), WB pendant, mini art set, 4 quarters (SC,AR,NY,VI), hair pin, frog post card and my signature item Dilbert joke.
