Geocache Description:

This is part 1 of now defunct sculpture series.

FYI - COINS REGULARLY ARE STOLEN FROM THIS CACHE. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ANY COINS HERE, FOR THE COIN OWNER'S SAKE.

"Sculpture has the effect of teaching us manners and abolishing hurry." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

After admiring Team Noltex's cache series, "Art of Tacoma", we decided to design a series that highlights sculpture in the city of Federal Way.

The first exhibit starts at Dumas Bay Centre/ Knutzen Family Theatre. You are looking for a small plastic container, about 6"x6"x2". The coordinates given above are for the cache location. The sculptures are located nearby at the coordinates given below. PLEASE do not go into the flower beds or back into the ivy! The cache can be reached without any bushwacking! Stick near the trails.

If the Knutzen Family Theatre is open be sure to look around their lobby. It houses a rotating art gallery. Also, the lobby lights are beautiful glass sculptures commissioned by the city and designed by artist Winston Wachter.

Okay, now for the sculptures.
Sculpture 1: "Cascade Council Ring" by John Hoge. This is at the entrance to the theatre.

Sculpture 2: Untitled Salmon sculpture. I believe the artist is Steve Jensen, but I'm not positive.

PLEASE be stealthy when searching for the cache and rehide it so it is well covered!!!! There are always muggles around here out enjoying the incredible view.

Be sure to take time to enjoy the view of the Sound. Park hours are 7am to 9pm.

Congrats BigToys on your 2nd FTF in one day!
