Around the Park Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

WyseGuys: Sometime in the last week or so a stage of this multicache broke and was removed from the park. I talked with the City Administrator this morning and the device will not be repaired, but sometime this summer will be replace with something else. This cache has run it's course, so I will disable it and maybe put a new cache in the park sometime. Thanks to all who hunted for it.

Geocache Description:

A four part multicache located in a city park. Kid friendly, but watch for muggles. Park hours 6:00am-10:30pm.

After I picked up a micro cache container left by Welch in the Kewash Nature Trail II cache, I had no choice but to hide it. The cache is located in a city park. Terrain is flat and area is very family friendly. If the weather is nice, bring along your bat and glove, tennis rackets, swim suits or picnic.

We've had the pleasure of several first to finds and the disappointment of being second several times as well. This micro cache has a virgin travel bug for the SECOND finder. The first finder can log a FTF, the second gets a TB to set loose.

This cache is a 4-part micro hidden with permission from the city parks and recreation department. You may want to bring along a calculator.

Stage one - coordinates are given. You are looking for two time capsules located a few feet apart. You will need five different years from the capsules to find stage 2. Take the sum of the five years and divide by 283.971. Let this number be A. Take the sum of the five years and subtract 9009. Let this number be B. Coordinates for stage two are N41.29.A W91.41.B

Stage two - At stage two you will find a sign consisting of blue and black letters (use only the smaller letters, not the larger symbols in the center of the sign. Take the total number of blue letters, subtract 1 and square the result. Let this number be C. Multiply the total number of black letters plus 2 by 111. Let this number be D. Coordinates for stage three are N41.29.C W91.41.D.

Stage three - Here you will find a large stationary toy in the park. The toy has positions on it for passengers to stand. Figure the square root of the number of standing positions and subtract it from 993 to get E. Cube the number of standing positions and subtract it from 4959 to get F Coordinates for final stage are N41.28.E W91.41.F

Final stage - you are looking for a small waterproof match container. It contains a pencil and logbook.

Finally, if you search for the cache, please do us the courtesy of logging it, even if you have a DNF. We look forward to reading your logs.
