Geocache Description:

The cache is not in the stated location. You will have to figure out where it is located. This cache is a plastic pretzel jar painted to match the environment. It has a log book and some pens. There is a Where's George Dollar for the first finder and two travel bugs that would like to move. Also included is: a small truck, a sewing kit, a first aid kit, a $3.50 card for Starbucks, a llama, a telescope, and a battery powered fan.

Mesilla Valley Geocachers Are Getting Soft!!!

This was the thought I had while reading the exchanges of the Lost Legacy Cache. Sometimes it took three groups working together to figure this out. Even I worked in a group of two (me and MeMawNM) to find it. I decided that Mesilla Valley Geocachers Are Getting Soft. So, I have put out a cache with some great goodies, but no clues. (Well, you do have to suffer through my random, rambling thoughts.) Until Lost Legacy, there was exactly zero challenging caches. This cache may be difficult for some of the old cachers, but my soon-to-be seven-year-old grand-daughter would probably figure it out pretty easy. On a side note, the original coordinates are only 634 meters from the cache, but you can park much closer.

The cache is out in the desert, so I waited until the record summer heat broke a little bit. I didn’t want anyone passing out in the 106 degree weather while wondering around looking for this treasure. After all, Mesilla Valley Geocachers Are Getting Soft. While camoing this cache, it reminded me of the time when I was in Germany and saw my first GPSr when I was a mere lad of 36. There were only nine satellites in the sky at the time, so the user had to carry around a printout showing what times of the day the GPSr would have enough satellites to determine a location. Leave it to the military to design a GPSr which could only see a maximum of six satellites. Even a cheap civilian GPSr can now out perform the original military version. Well, I am off to look for more caches. Only nine more before I hit my 500th cache!!!
