Voici une multi cache toute simple qui se passe près du Manoir Rouville-Campbell.

Petite histoire du Manoir Rouville-Campbell

En 1694, le roi Louis XIV concède à Jean-Baptiste Hertel la seigneurie de Rouville le long du Richelieu. Mais c'est en 1819 seulement que la seigneurie sera habitée par René Hertel de Rouville, cinquième du nom. Il s'installe dans une modeste maison de pierre et de bois sise sur ses terres à Saint-Hilaire. En 1832, il construit à cet endroit, un manoir plus digne de son rang pour loger sa nombreuse famille.

Une faillite le force en 1844 à céder tous ses biens aux mains d'un officier anglais, le major Thomas Edmund Campbell. En 1850, ce dernier modifie considérablement la vieille résidence seigneuriale en s'inspirant du Manoir New Inverawe de son Écosse natale pour lui donner le style Tudor tel qu'il est aujourd'hui, contrastant par son allure et ses dimensions inusitées, avec les autres manoirs du pays.

Après le départ des derniers châtelains Campbell en 1956, le manoir est abandonné. En 1969, le sculpteur Jordi Bonet l'achète pour en faire son atelier et sa résidence jusqu'à son décès. Classé monument historique en 1977, il garde sa vocation culturelle jusqu'en 1987, alors que ce magnifique édifice est transformé en hôtellerie de luxe.

Après une période d'ajustement, le manoir plus que centenaire fut mis en valeur d'une façon remarquable par les propriétaires de l'époque bien connus du milieu hôtelier: Monsieur & Madame Daigle.

En 1987, le manoir est transformé en hôtel de luxe. De 1996 à 2006, le populaire humoriste Yvon Deschamps est l'heureux propriétaire de ce joyau historique. Afin de marquer le deuxième centenaire du domaine, Monsieur Deschamps, décide de compléter l'encadrement des jardins en édifiant le pavillion de l'Orangerie aux abords de la rivière Richelieu.

Depuis le 1er septembre 2006, Noëlla et André Imbeau ainsi que leurs trois filles Caroline, Christine et Marie-Claude ont acquis le Manoir Rouville-Campbell et continueront l'oeuvre de M. Deschamps: préserver et mettre en valeur l'aspect historique de ce lieu unique et exeptionnel.

Here is a multi caches quite simple which happens near the Manor Rouville-Campbell.

History

In 1694, King Louis XIV granted Jean-Baptiste Hertel the lordship of de Rouville along the banks of the Richelieu river. However it is only in 1819 that land will be occupied by René Hertel de Rouville, fifth descendant, who will reside in a modest stone and wood house erected on his lands in Saint-Hilaire. In 1832, he builds on the same site a manor more in keeping with his rank and to accommodate his large family.

A bankruptcy in 1844 forced him to cede all his holdings to a British army officer, Major Thomas Edmund Campbell. In 1850 the buildings were greatly altered by the owner, inspired by his New Inverware Manor in his homeland in Scotland, to give it the Tudor style it has to this day, contrasting with the other manors of the country by its aspect and unusual dimensions.

After the departure of the last owner bearing the name Campbell in 1956 the manor laid deserted. In 1969 Jordi Bonet, the sculptor, acquired it and resided and worked in it until his death. The manor was classified as a historical monument in 1977 and used as an art centre until 1987, when this magnificent building was transformed into a sumptuous hotel.

In 1991 Mr. and Mrs. Daigle, already well known in the hotel industry purchased the property and undertook a complete restoration of the land and buildings.

Since 1996, the popular comedian, Yvon Deschamps is the happy owner of this historical jewel. In order to mark the second centenary of the estate, Mr. Deschamps decided to complete the surroundings of the gardens by building the Orangerie towards the banks of the Richelieu river.

Night and day the exceptional fenestration of the Orangerie provides a magnificent view of the manor, the gardens and the river. The Orangerie according to the tradition that goes back to Louise XIV is a delightful place for receptions, conferences or entertainment.

Rest assured that the management of Manoir Rouville-Campbell would do its utmost to preserve and enhance the historical value of this unique estate.
