In the home cache area of Theyeti you can find several places called “Galgenberg”(Gallows-hill). The gallows were situated on a relatively inaccessible and quite impressively dominant position in the landscape. During the period of its existence, from the 16th to the 18th century, the location of the gallows therefore formed a significant element of the town environs. The position of the gallows was determined by clear visibility and prominence, to ensure that its use served as an effective warning. The site of the gallows always gained a characteristic name, such as "Galgenberg", which is often still used today. The gallows began to disappear from the end of the 18th century in correlation with the reforms of the judiciary and the abolishment of public capital punishment. The gallows were either purposely pulled down or merely abandoned until the beginning of the 20th century when they were finally removed. After being abolished, attempts have been made to erase it from living memory……

Next to the sandy road path you can park your car at mapref N51 13,121 E 006 04,080. Start with turning your car so you can immediately leave this place if necessary! Exactly follow the description below for the fastest way to the logbook. Nearby, approximately 400 meters to the east, you will soon find the place were Ambrosius Peyen was hung in 1768. Since 2003 strange things happen in this area. Every local is familiar with the fact that the remains of the unfortunate victims of the gibbet at the “Galgenberg” were dumped in these woods.

However the sun tries to dispel it, you will notice a certain “atmosphere” in the forest. Obviously you will be surrounded by a sudden hush. Always try to stay cool, don't let your senses guide you! X-tra care should be taken and remember that surely you encounter a big surprise!

Follow the border in northern direction to wp1.
wp1 N51 13,348 E006 04,611 Axx on pole: code1= xx/2.

wp2 N51 13,063 E006 04,395 code2 = 3 + number of sides with inscriptions on concrete pole.
This is the place, take care! Leave in Western direction asap until you reach a small path (app. 50 meters).

wp3 N51 12,896 E006 04,343 code3 = 55 + red number on tree (70 cm above groundlevel, left side of path).
Follow this path for another 40 paces then turn right and head to Wp4.

Wp4 N 51 12,845 E006 04,210.
Turn right again (head north) and goto wp5.

Wp5 N51 13,085 E006 04,090 (intersection).

Cache:13 paces east of Wp 5 at the foot of the former gibbet (17cm above A8).
17 paces north of Wp5 you'll find an aluminium home-made shield with additional info.
