Geocache Description:

Join us Saturday, September 24th!
Clean up from 9am to 12pm.
Cookout from 12pm to 2pm.

In planning this CITO event, it just so happened to fall near the annual Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up effort. We decided it would be fun to coordinate our clean up with this annual project.

The clean up begins promptly at 9:00 am at the posted coordinates for registration, and runs till Noon. The area our group is assigned to is the Upper Tanyard Creek area (#30 on map). The coords for this location are the ones posted on this event listing.

Following the clean up, from 12:00 till 2:00, there will be a FREE cookout with entertainment and recognition provided for all individuals who participated in the clean up. The coordinates for the marina (#40 on map), where the cookout will be held, are N34 06.528 W084 42.714. Admittance to the cookout is via pass only. Passes to attend (a volunteer patch) will be given out at time of registration. So it's important to be on time.

We'll provide trash bags, but we ask that you wear comfortable clothing and bring work gloves since we'll be cleaning up the lake shoreline and wooded locations around Upper Tanyard Creek. We will be directed as to where we should dispose of the collected trash.

As an extra incentive, a raffle ticket will be handed out to all participants** for a special drawing. The prize is a brand new and unlogged Moun10bike Geocoin! (**Only individuals who do not currently own one of these coins will be eligible for the special raffle)

This event is open to everyone and this page will be updated as more information becomes available.
