A Family of Eagles Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

RedhedMary: [red]Regretfully archiving as indeed, the horseshoe pits that were my son's Eagle Project in 2002 have been removed. (for those who may have wondered, the coords were written inside one of the pvc tubes covering the stakes. Coords at first stage were on the underside of the kiosk.) I went to the final - the tree seems to be down and I could not find the container anywhere. Too bad as it was the same container for the entire six year run.

Thanks to all who have searched for this over the years.

Geocache Description:

This is a three-stage cache to honor my family's Eagle Scout projects, two of which are located in the same Kent County Park as the cache.

Park closes at dusk daily. Not a night time cache!

Posted coordinates take you to the area of my older son's Eagle Scout Project. This was completed in the spring of 2002 under my son's leadership by the scouts and leaders of Troop 102 of Lowell, Michigan.

Stage 2, a reasonable hike from stage 1 (or you may drive if you'd rather) brings you to the area of my younger son's Eagle Scout Project. This was completed in the fall of 2002 under my son's leadership by the scouts and leaders of Troop 102 as well.

I had hoped to hide the cache itself in an area that would remind me of my husband's Eagle Scout Project, through Troop 700 in Springdale, Ohio in 1970. Alas, no raised flower beds with "Welcome to Springdale" signs so the cache will be found in a place more ordinary to geocaching.

7-5-09: As new "no trespassing" signs have been posted in the area where the final was hidden, I have relocated the final nearby but in an area that is definitely within the park boundaries.

I'm proud of my Eagle Scout family!
