Geocache Description:

This is a multi-leg quest. You will need to solve a couple of riddles/clues along the way to complete the search.

Drive to (N 40 35.404, W 122 22.704) which is the parking lot for Redding's newest tourist attraction, the Sundial Bridge. Walk across the bridge to the first stop at the above coordinates. Here you will find the Hanson-Sindt Trail sign. Complete your first decoding by assigning the letters of the trail name to the numbers 0-9. See the example a couple lines down before you get started. Print this page and you can use the "fill-in-the-blanks" provided to keep track of your codes and to decode the coordinates.

0=___, 1=___, 2=___, 3=___, 4=___, 5=___, 6=___, 7=___, 8=___, 9=___.

When you have completed your key, decode the encoded grids (Lat/Long) below to numbers. Hint: As you spell out the answer (skip any letter already used), keeping the numbers 0-9 in order and assigning a letter as it occurs in the answer. Example: John Smith would result in the code of:
0(zero)=J, 1=O(Oh), 2=H, 3=N, 4=S, 5=M, 6=I, 7=T (H does not equal 8 because H was already used to equal 2).

The coded location of your next stop is as follows:

North "O""H"deg"S""I"."D""A""A". Fill your coordinates into the following: North___ ___deg___ ___.___ ___ ___min.

West "A""N""N"deg"N""N"."N""R""R". West___ ___ ___deg___ ___.___ ___ ___min.

Bike/walk to these coordinates and read about restoring natural habitat. Your second decoding will be to answer the following question - Restoration of natural habitat includes selection, protection and encouragement of what?

0=___, 1=___, 2=___, 3=___, 4=___, 5=___, 6=___, 7=___, 8=___, 9=___.

North "I""S"deg"C""F"."A""P""C".
North___ ___deg___ ___.___ ___ ___min.

West "P""E""E"deg"E""E"."C""F""T"
West___ ___ ___deg___ ___.___ ___ ___min.

The metal first aid container was stolen and has been replaced, never pays to use something nice. First to Find Ribbon and other trade items are enclosed. No need to travel off paved path or established trails except for the last 100 feet or so. Take your time and enjoy this area with its many paths and trails thru the natural habitat.
