Cache 4 of 4: Saving Private Ryan: The Bridge of Rem'al

This is the final cache in the series based on the movie Saving Private Ryan.

NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REACH THIS CACHE WITHOUT FIRST VISITING THE PREVIOUS THREE IN THE SERIES!

The coordinates posted will bring you to a street in the old Fort Ord. Depending on the way you approached in your vehicle you will need to take a left or right down this street.

After meeting up with Private James Ryan he and his friends lead you to a town known as Rem'al. It is totally destroyed from Allied bombers and the ravages of war.

The buildings are creepy being so empty and trashed. You can almost imagine what it must have looked like a few years back before the fighting. People would be milling about and kids would be running through the streets. No more.

As you walk they brief you and your squad as to what they are doing here.

Rem'al holds one of three key bridges that are all under Allied control and must stay that way so the troops pouring in from Normandy will have ways of crossing the river. This is crucial to success.

The Americans defending this bridge are extremely fatigued and under-supplied. It seems unlikely that they will be able to hold of the German attack without the help of you and your squad.

You try and convince Private Ryan to leave and come home, but he will not do it. He says that these (motioning to the soldiers around him) are his only brothers left. He wants to stay.

You contemplate for quite a while and weigh all the options. You finally decide that you didn't come all this way for nothing and you wish to defend the bridge from the Germans as well.

The fatigued soldiers are delighted that you and your squad of men will stay. They also have renewed hope that with your help and knowledge the bridge will be held.

After turning down the street you will be driving through some abandoned buildings. After some distance you will be facing a church and will have to turn either left or right. Turn LEFT. Follow this more traversed street to a stop sign. Straight ahead from the stop sign you should see a bridge spanning across Highway 1. Drive right up to the gate and you can park here.

You plan out a battle strategy to try and foil the Germans plans. It seems like a good one. Everyone is somewhat enthusiastic despite the circumstances. Now all you can do is wait by the bridge...

The final cache is located at N 36* 39.A7A W 121* 48.9AA In order to find the final cache coordinates you must recall the code you collected from the previous cache, Saving Private Ryan: The Man Means Nothing to Me; He's Just a Name, and plug that corresponding number into A. This should give you the proper coordinates.

The cache container blends in very well to its surroundings. It is spray painted olive drab for camo. Trust me, it is visible if you look very hard.

Because this is the final cache I have loaded it with some great prizes and trade items! Just try to keep and American /patriotic/military theme to this cache. Thanks.
