The listed coordinates will give you a destination, and perhaps a benchmark from 1843. Details below might lead you to a geocache as well.

While Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is quite a mouthful, the poetic names of its islands roll off the lips; Prudence, Hope, Patience, Dyer... Huh? DYER?

Dyer Island is the orphan child. It was not added to the Reserve until 2001, when it was purchased from private parties. After spotting it while hunting [D]'s Weaver Cove cache, CL and I decided to paddle over for a look-see. What a gem of a place we found!

To encourage exploration of the shoreline (only), this is a photographic offset cache. One of the scenes below was taken from the cache site. No need to disturb the landscape. Cache has unnatural cover.
