This cache is located near the Rusk Co. Historical Society Museum which is across the Flambeau River Bridge from downtown and just north of Memorial Park. Watch for the small brown museum sign when taking the big curve and turn in there. It is not located in the museum grounds and so is available at any hour.
The Little Red School is part of the Rusk Co. Museum Complex. The entire historical museum consists of 10 buildings including the Gates Co. Courthouse, Glen Flora Jail house, the school, and teacher's cabin. Among some of the thousands of donated items are logging artifacts and log stamps, 19th century apparel, World Wars 1 & 2 items. The hours are week-ends Memorial Day-Labor Day from 12:30-4:30.
I think many people miss this little gem of history because it's tucked back off the main road. So, I put a cache here that is easy to find, so you can spend a little time enjoying the museum.
