Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is located at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters.
Although easily reached by vehicle on a paved and well maintained
road, we are rating the terrain a (3) due to the many switch-backs
along the 7.5 kilometer drive to the lookout. For those courageous
enough to try on bicycle, we applaud you!
This cache should be available until the winter snows close the
road.
Please bring your own pen or pencil as the cache is too small to
hold one.
This cache is located in spectacular Manning Park located half way
between Hope and Princeton, BC. From the lookout you will see many
mountains within Canada and the US including Red Mtn, Skyline
Ridge, Mox Peaks (US), Mt. Hozomeen (US), Mt. Frosty, Mt. Winthrop
(US), The Parks (US), Windy Joe and Sheep Mtn. You can also look
down upon Lightning Lake, where you can camp, canoe, kayak and
fish. At the lookout you are more than likely to be greated by
Cascade Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrels, Yellow Pine Chipmunks,
Gray Jays and Clark's Nutcrackers. Although quite friendly, please
DO NOT feed the animals. After taking in the amazing views, you can
also continue on up the well maintained gravel road another 6.5
kilometers to the Sub-Alpine Meadows where you can enjoy a fabulous
array of flora (especially in June and July) and visit
"Heather Meadows Micro-Cache".
Due to the high muggle traffic in the area, please use your best
'stealth mode'.
Enjoy the views and happy cachin'!
