c.j.b: In spite of what I read back in 2005, it's becoming obvious The Mysterious They aren't planning on making this a public reserve any time soon. The blockades placed in front of all the access points make the point of that. The place really looks a bit worse now than when it was first created, really...

So shutting down the cache at this location. Maybe I can find a 'Wattle Swamplands' somewhere...

Geocache Description:

A Cardiff-area cache, that, yes, it would be better to ride a bike too.

If you've been bitten by the geocaching-is-a-sport-only-for-members-of-a-single-website change, the location of this cache is: south 32deg 56.223 east 151deg 38.286

What was once a secret place for us -extreme- BMX'ing 10 year-olds back in the 1980s, has 'unfortunately' been reclaimed and renovated into a public wetlands-type reserve and water catchment area. As of August 2005, it's still rather bare and defoliated from the recently completed landscaping.

If traveling by car, most of the challenge will be to find a nearby parking area, and I'd suggest checking a map ... An even better idea would be to grab the BMX or MTB and find the berms I helped to make. :)

The hiding place is not somewhere you will want to shove an unprotected hand into. There might be a long stick suitable for removing it nearby, and gloves are advisable. Try not to disturb the tree growing in front, lest the current generation of BMXers should think its hiding place be worthy of investigation..

Update April 2006: I've bumped the Terrain rating up a bit, as the vegetation regrowth has made access to GZ a bit of a bash.
