Geocache Description:

The location of the cache is not the co-ordinates given. The exact location is not much more than a drive-by so to make the cache more interesting, you will need to take a closer look at the historic town of Caerwys.

The co-ordinates given are for Caerwys Town Hall. At the front of the building are several foundation stones each bearing the same date. To complete the North co-ordinates of the cache divide the year by 6 (ignore the remainder) then add the month and then the day to get the missing three figures.

N 53 15 ?

Next proceed to N 53 14.829 W 003 18.490. Here you will find a historic building. To complete the West co-ordinates you will need to answer a few observational questions. The co-ordinates will be the number relating to the answer to each of the questions.
A. The building is named bi-lingually. The English name is Pinfold Caerwys. Select the Welsh equivalent.
0. Porlan Caerwys
1. Corfold Caerwys
2. Porfold Caerwys
3. Corlan Caerwys

B. Which public amenity stands next to the building?
0. Church
1. Museum
2. Toilets
3. Library

C. Which animals are mentioned on the sign?
0. Dogs
1. Cats
2. Horses
3. Pigs

These co-ordinates will take you to the cache site which is the remains of a lime kiln. Not much of the kiln is still standing but some of the firebrick can just be seen in the mound behind the tree.

The cache is hidden on the path passing the kiln. Carry on up the pathway after its discovery and you will arrive at Caerwys Hall, now a bed-and-breakfast.
