Vampires, Mummies, and the GeoGhost Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Shop99er: Well, it's time to put this one to bed.

Thanks to MicrobusGeeks and -Hawk- for helping put this together. It would not have happened without them.

Thanks to all of you for coming. All that work and time notwithstanding, it was our guests that made this all worth the effort.

Next year's VMGG will be in the Tacoma/Fife area, I think. If we can find a good venue for this thing, that is. We'll let you know in the Forums.

Happy Caching,
Shop99er and Mrs Shop99er

This will be a potluck costume party for young and old. Some food will be provided but we ask that you bring a side dish and your favorite beverage. There will be prizes, games, a craft table for the kids and lots of socializing.

The details you ask? Well…..

waterman

You'll be warm and dry inside the Waterman Club which is an old one room school house located in Port Orchard. It's a little spooky on it's own but we'll spook it up some more. There will be a stove for warming food and electricity for crock pots so if you'd like to bring a hot dish we can accommodate.

There is a small wooded area behind the school and if you'd like to try your hand at a night cache, bring your flashlight and your GPS and give it a try. Because this cache will only be in place for one night, you can log a second find on this event IF you sign the logbook that will be in the night cache's container. If you elect to not hunt the night cache, then you only get one find on this event

5:00 PM - the doors open

7:00 PM - Spider Toss game for the kids

8:00 PM - Kids Costume Contest

9:00 PM - Drawings, Adult Costume Contest & maybe Cannibal Soup game for all!

The parking lot at the Waterman Club isn't lit very well so we suggest that you bring a flashlight just to get you back and forth from your car.

Do I have to wear a costume you ask? Well, of course not but we'd appreciate it if you do. We're gonna!! Just remember there are kids and food around so keep your costume appropriate to the surroundings.

There will be a costume contest with nifty prizes awarded for the kids. The prizes will be awarded at about 8PM so that kids who need to be in bed early can still win. No need to bring anything to enter the contest other than a good costume.

We'll have games for young and old with prizes awarded. The games are simple and don't require you to cause yourself a huge amount of embarrassment so we hope most of you will want to participate. In addition to the games we'll have a special craft table set up for the kids. They can color and glue to their heart's content and take their special creations home to adorn your fridge at the end of the night.

StickThere's going to be a special drawing for a walking stick donated by Team Misguided. It's a beautiful stick that was hand carved by Squarehead that is sturdy and light. It measures 44 inches and is small enough to fit in a smaller hand comfortably. All you need to do is drop your name in a box to win. The walking stick winning entry will be drawn at about 9PM. You must be present to win.

You know we'll have lots of food! Bloody pinky fingers in sauce, severed lady fingers, zombie eyeballs, (which you might recognize as Little Smokies in BBQ sauce, bread sticks, and a mystery sweet). YUM!! You will want to bring your favorite drinks although there is no beer or alcohol allowed in the Waterman Club.

We have had a coin minted for the event too! It will be available all night at the event. See Shop99er for purchase. Since we had only 100 made are limiting it to one per caching family to make sure we've got enough to go around. The coins will go for $6 each at the party. If there are any left over they will be announced for sale in the Forums.

We will NOT entertain ANY requests to hold, save, reserve, set aside, or hide away a coin before, during, or after the Event. Please don't ask us to make an exception for you, cuz it ain't gonna happen.
