Geocache Description:

Four Wheel Drive definately required.
Dont attempt this cache without first telling someone where you are going - especially during summer or after rain.

To reach a start point for this cache you will need a Pilbara Iron access road pass - free from the Tourist Information Centre in Karratha. (You must first watch a 10 minute safety video).

Follow the access road 10 klms past Radio Hill (very easily recognised). Turn right towards Mt Elizabeth & Wundoo mines and turn on your GPS. The drive to the cache will take you past a lonely grave of a miner who was fatally injured whilst working in a nearby copper mine shaft. Back in 1923 it wasnt an easy task to get back to the Roebourne hospital! Unfortunately this poor chap didnt make it. Around 250 metres further on you will see the old mine, if you go exploring beware of the many shafts which are now hidden amoungst the spinifex. Not a place for young children!!

On to the cache - and watch out for the zebra.

Enjoy the amazing scenery of the Pilbara - first finder gets a CD full of fantastic Pilbara photos (taken by Team Pathfinder, naturally LOL). Feel free to copy and pass to your friends.
