Geocache Description:

Elevation 300ft

It just seemed like it was time for a new Ring Mountain cache. This is such a wonderful preserve, maintained by the Marin County Open Space District. At its high point, one has 360 degree views of the Bay and beyond, including Mt. Tam. It is also home of at least 2 rare wild flower species - the Tiburon mariposa lily and the Tiburon jewel plant (neither are located at the cache site, but check out the website for the Marin chapter of the California Native Plant Society at (visit link) to learn more about when and where to view these amazing natural phenomena.)

You can access Ring Mountain from several entry points. For the best views use the Phyllis Ellman Loop Trail at Paradise, or entry at the top of Blackfield Drive/Reed Ranch Road. For the shortest hike, start at the Shepherd Way fire road. Cache contains logbook and pen and the usual assortment of priceless treasures.
