On your way to Grand Rapids?? If you’re a cacher you oughtta be!
This series is intended to give you a chance to grab a cache and take a break from the road before you start hunting for all of the great caches in the Rapids area. I found a "rest stop" on each of the major routes you might approach Grand Rapids from. Each rest stop got whatever type of cache it could support whether it was a tricky multi or a quicky micro.
While you're in Rapids, hunt as many as you can, but here are my recommendations (alphabetical order and based on my own personal biases):
10 can't-miss caches within 10 miles of Grand Rapids
Well...there used to be an actual rest stop--a neat one--very close to this spot but it was destroyed when they widened the highway. I think you'll still like this little rest stop substitute just north of where the real thing used to be.
My only caution is for drivers of low clearance vehicles: You may want to park up top on the shoulder, at least during wet months. I had no problems at all getting in and out of here, but it's conceivable that one could.
