Devil`s point is a small area of Plymouth which is surrounded with history and great views. To one side you have the Royal William Yard which is currently being re-developed into a type of urdan village with shops, business units and housing. This used to be a Victualling yard which would supply the sailing ships of the navy in days gone by with the food needed for long journey`s around the worlds oceans. Next to this is the marina where a multitude of please craft can be seen coming and going as people enjoy being out on the water.
Futher round and a view can be seen up the River Tamar towards the present day Navy Dock Yards which are mostly out of view around the corner. If you are luck you may see a warship of the Brittish navy leaving or returning to the dockyard. You may even be very luck and see one of many foreign naval vessels which visit Devonport Dockyard on a regular basis.
Opposite Devil`s Point is Cremyll where you find Mount Edgecumbe House and Country Park. This can be reached by use of the Crymell Ferry which is a short walk from Devil`s Point.
You also get a great veiw of Plymouth Sound and of Drakes Island which was a prison way back in history. Also you get a great view of The Hoe.
