New Beginnings Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

chocolatemal: This one has definitely been muggled [:(]. Not a sign of the cache or its contents. I won't be replacing it now that it's so busy around there with Tim Horton's. However, I may create a new cache in the Baden core - stayed tuned.

Geocache Description:

This cache is being placed in an historic location to celebrate a new home, a son going off to university, and a retirement. Two travel bugs will begin their journeys here to commemorate two of these milestones, coolboyben's Spidey tag and Scott the Travel Bug.

The posted coordinates do NOT lead to the cache.

*Note: It is possible to find all of the following information without ever entering the castle.*

Before you can find the cache:
Castle Kilbride was built in 1877 by James Livingston and named after his birthplace in Scotland. Gather the information below and solve the mathematical equations that follow to find the coordinates for the cache (a Rubbermaid container covered in camo tape).

A. The year paintings in the hall and library of the castle date to:________

B. The year the addition (administrative offices) was built:________

C. The number of windows in the belvedere (aka cupola):________

D. The number of steps/stairs to get up to the front door of the castle:________

E. The number of flagpoles on the property:________

F. The number of closed sides on the gazebo in Livingston square:________

G. The number of decorative lamps in Livingston square:________

H. The first digit in Castle Kilbride's civic address:________

Now, you're ready to solve the equations, but don't forget to use BEDMAS!

The cache can be found at:

N 43º[sum of digits in B plus one].[(10 x sum of digits in A)+ D]

W 80º[10 x E].[10 + H x C x (F + G) / 2]

Good luck and enjoy the tour of the Castle grounds!
