Gator Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Snobird & Mountain Goat: This cache is being archived because we no longer will be getting up to Alaska to take care of it. We thank you all who have looked for and found our cache and do hope you enjoyed viewing the Gator. We loved this area and had a great time visiting it when we were up to go fishing. Anyone who tries to log after this, their logs will be deleted. Thanks!!

Geocache Description:

Hey Fishermen! There really is something to do and see in Yakutat other then just fishing. The above coordinates will take you to a location in Cannon Beach State Park, which is the location of a gun emplacement that was part of Alaska’s Coastal Defiance System during WWII . The old gun is (which is still there) is located at N59° 29.538 W139° 43.556, just a short walk from the cache.

At the cache site, there is a very ominous creature lurking near the edge of the woods. Do not worry about getting too close to it, its teeth have been pulled. You will have to look for the cache under its left side track (north side).

Do to the amount of rain and snow in the area, this cache (a camoed water proof match container) only contains a waterproof log sheet.
