Weir Down There Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.
Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."
If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,
Geocache Description:

The cache resides just outside of the nationally famous Top Hill Low Nature Reserve, near to the River Hull. Nearby is the Struncheon Hill Lock (aka Hempholme). The lock has an usually beamless gate opened by a rack with a conventional spline. Take a look and the contrasting gates are clear.

Care MUST be taken near the river, especially with children. There is absolutely no need to descend any banks to recover the cache.

Parking is available just over Bethell's Bridge where a public access woodland was planted in 2001 at N 53° 56.633 W 000° 21.503. Cache could also be approached from the west, south or east!

The cache is a small Lock & Lock plastic container.

Originally the cache contained-

Metal teddy bear photograph frame
Plastic Zebedee
Alu can recycling testing magnet
Gaviscon Advance pen
Espania magnetic five Euro cent coin
Log book, pencil and sharpener
