Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near the head of Buzzard's Run, a scenic little creek that runs through the Snake Hill WMA across the canyon from Cooper's Rock State Forest. Buzzard's Run falls more than 1400 feet from the ridge top to the Cheat River below.

The best way to get to the WMA is by taking Exit 7 off I-68 and taking 857 north. Turn right onto Tyrone road and left onto Snake Hill road just past the Good Counsel Friary. There are several parking areas that can be used to access the WMA:

N39°37.108' W79°50.127'
N39°36.620' W79°49.747'

but the best is at:

N39°36.853' W79°49.856'

The cache is a .50 caliber ammo can.

The original cache contents (9/6/2005) are as follows:

Logbook
pencils
pencil sharpener
rocket toy
glo-sticks
Monte Cristo Cuban cigar (for novelty... not consumption)
matchbox indy car
bird call
laptop accessory cable
eppendorf pipet pen
magnet
calculator
moose coaster

Note: this cache is located on the Snake Hill Wildlife Management area. Cachers attempting it in hunting season should wear blaze orange, and follow any appropriate safety measures. Ball caps with antlers are not recommended.

While you are in the area, take some time and check out the stone bluff located at N39°37.073'W79°49.593'. There is a huge rock "room" here that would provide shelter for a number of people. This site is on down Buzzard's Run a bit.
