Located northeast of the access road to the Mataguay Scout Reservation, the Devil's Throne is a large rock monolith near the summit of this ridgeline.
After hearing all the Scout legends of the "Devil's Throne", my Webelos Scouts wanted to make the trek to see it up close, so we did one better and placed a cache there. The road/trail we took to the top was washed out in several places, and according to the topographical map there is a road that loops around from inside the Mataguay Scout Ranch. The obvious way to go is a 1.25 mile straight uphill slog that rises 600+ ft.
If you enter the Mataguay Camp gate, find the ranger to get permission to enter, as there are many ongoing activities at MSR.
If you have been to our other two caches - you know what to look for!
We started out the cache with some camping/hiking trinkets, and a camera - every finder take a pic and we'll post them when we retrieve the camera next visit.
