“INDIANA SPIRIT
QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just a year and a half, the quest has
grown to over three hundred caches hidden in twenty-seven Indiana
counties, and two Ohio counties, and the hiders have grown to
twelve cacher teams, most of which of which are comprised of
Dogs and their Humans. Over 600 cacher
teams have logged over 7,000 finds. One cache machine found 102 ISQ
caches in a single day (daylight hours only).

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST
#319
"Circle Gets a Square"
Welcome to Liber
Cemetery, Wayne Township in Jay County, Portland, Indiana. The
north end of the cemetery is mostly comprised of older graves,
ranging from the mid 1800s to the early 1900s. The south end of the
cemetery has newer gravesites. The latest one that I found was from
1999.
The Circles were buried here. Much of the inscription has faded,
and some of the older stones in the cemetery have been
damaged.
Old and new graves are side-by-side. Delmar Weesner, a WWI vet who
died at the age of 62, is buried next to Gerald and Bernice, who
died in the 1990s.
The cache container is a
camo-taped 35mm film canister. Please make sure that it is at least
as well-concealed as when you found it. BYOP. .The cache is not
located near a grave... As always, please be respectful, and cache
in, trash out.
